Recently adding LG EnV, it is also known as VX9900 and is distributed by the Wireless king – Verizon. As far as mobile phones goes, the LG EnV may very well be the EnV of other mobile phones.

The dimensions of the EnV: 4.64 x 2.08 x 0.78 inches and weighs almost 5 ounces. The external LCD screen is 1.25 inches and displays 65,000 colors and up to eight lines of text. When closed, it resembles a a laptop computer. It sports a numeric keypad and external display. Inside, hinges open to reveal a QWERTY keypad and larger internal LCD screen.

The LG EnV is enabled with GPS as well. Verizon subscribers can take advantage of VZ Navigator, so their mobile units can give them turn-by-turn driving directions from the speakerphone. How fun! Moreover, the LG EnV supports Verizon’s Chaperone service where parents have the ability to track their children’s whereabouts using nothing more than a mobile phone.

And if you want a phone with a camera (well, of course you do!), the EnV offers a 2.0 mega pixel digital camera with auto focus and 2.5x digital zoom. There is also an LED flash, night mode, self-timer, and shutter mode control. Photo quality is terrific, as they can be taken in many resolutions as well as adjusted for brightness and color. Like making videos? Well, with the LG EnV, you can capture video up to one hour long. Videos and photos can be attached to MMS and email, saved in the internal 64MB memory, or in the microSD card.

Plus, when you have a EnV cellular phone, there are all kinds of perks for being a Verizon subscriber. For example, you can get multimedia services like VCAST for on-demand live TV broadcasts, VCAST Store for audio downloads, games supported by BREW, and others, all of which can be enjoyed on the EnV. The phone also has Bluetooth, and can sync up with your laptop or desktop PC.

As a media player, the quality of the audio is satisfactory while streaming video displays well with minimal pixellation. According to some, the EnV is a tad bit bulky and hefty. However, overall, I would say, the performance is is good enough to meet the needs of busy business people or the entertainment tech heads out there. The LG EnV also has has voice dialing, voice memo, to-do list, customizable graphics, ring tones, a calendar, games, plus a who lot more fun features you’ve just got to check out.

Is Your Phone Smart?

Still not sure exactly what it is? Well, the HTC Mogul is a smart phone with a multi-touch LCD screen that measures 2.8 inches with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 65,000 color display. This smart phone comes with a stylus for touch screen input. Slide the phone horizontally to the left and you can access the QWERTY keyboard with nice size buttons for easy tapping.

Organize Your Life With Your Mogul

One of the nice things about this phone is that it’s perfect for organizing your life. For example, you can use it to organize your contacts. How it works is that each contact can have entry for 12 phone numbers, street address, email address, IM ID, and a number of other things. Not only that, but calls can be tagged with polyphonic ring tones and photo IDs. And if that wasn’t enough, voice activated dialing is also supported! The Mogul smart phone is compatible with Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Files with compatible formats can be opened or created on the Mogul. Adobe Reader is also installed for opening PDF’s. And last but not least, the HTC Mogul is capable of SMS, MMS, and email.

Surf The Internet And Take Pictures

The Mogul has Wi-Fi capability and EVDO support. Surfing the web is a breeze on the Mogul - and it’s even simpler with the installed Windows Internet Explorer Mobile browser. This smart phone has Infrared, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. The Mogul has 96MB internal memory, which can be expanded with an included 512MB microSD card. And, if you’re a Sprint subscriber, you can even watch live TV broadcasts with it. The Mogul is also included with MSN Messenger software for instant messenging.

With the built-in 2.0 mega pixel digital camera, you can take photos up to 1200 x 1600 pixels resolution. It has up to 8x zoom, LED flash, and photo editing tools. The digital camera can capture video up to 30 seconds, and can be saved in MPEG4 or motion JPG format. Photos and video can be attached to MMS and email.

Not Without Its Critics

However, the HTC smart phone is not without it’s critics. For example, the limited memory can limit how productive the phone is - so a larger microSD card will be needed. Navigating with the touch screen and operating with the QWERTY works fine, although the circular toggle button underneath the screen is a bit stiff. Thankfully, downloading is fast, and depending on the service provider, the EVDO support on the HTC Mogul will soon be upgraded.
